Something's Brewin Blog

Like anything, it’s all down to personal preference – we all have such different tastes and styles. Were you that emo kid at school? The sporty type? Exactly… we won’t all be the same! So when it comes to your stationery, decide what you like, what you want and what you’re prepared to spend your budget on – you’re all working so hard towards your dream wedding, so it’s important to get it right!

There are several different styles – just some for example…

  • Bright/colourful
  • Monotone
  • Pen and ink
  • Watercolour
  • Foil
  • Traditional
  • Untraditional
  • Rustic
  • Boho

I don’t particularly like the trend phrase ‘Boho’, though – I find everyone’s take on it to be wildly different, and you can see this in stationery too. So having a specific style in mind is the best place to start.

Then, really think about what first impression you want to give your guests – this can also heavily impact what the guests first think about your wedding. Will it be something they enjoy? Will they rethink the traditional outfit choice? Do you want your guests to think your wedding is traditional or something a little different?

Then decide how important stationery is to you. We’ve all had DIY invites through the post, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that! It all depends on what’s important to you – and that’s what a budget forces you to choose between. It works harder in areas that are more important for us – a band over a DJ, for example? We’ve all got our own deal-breakers.

After picking the route you want to go down with your stationery based on these factors, you should then find your one – stationer that is! Instragam is a great place to start: there are so many small businesses on there and it’s easy to search. Try #Invitations, #watercolourvenue #inkandpenweddinginvites – take your time to find the right fit and way of working for you.

If you would like a call, video call or brew get in touch and I can help advise on what’s right for you and your wedding

TOP TIP: Count invitations by household, not the number of guests!
